U.S. President Donald Trump has announced his intention to strike a deal with Russia regarding Ukraine. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
"I would like to see an agreement with Russia. As you know, Vladimir Putin called me. He asked if I could help you with Iran. I said no, I don’t need help regarding Iran, I need help regarding your issue, and I hope we can reach an agreement with Russia," the president stated.
Additionally, it is noteworthy that Putin and Trump had a phone conversation on June 14. It lasted 50 minutes and addressed the situation surrounding Iran and the Ukrainian settlement. Putin, in particular, talked about the exchange of prisoners according to the Istanbul agreements and stated that Russia is ready to continue negotiations with Ukraine. Moreover, the president congratulated his American counterpart on his birthday.
