Washington Will Face Negative Consequences: Regional Peace is at Risk, Iran's Foreign Ministry
The United States has become involved in the Middle East conflict due to Israel's failures, stated Seyyed Hosein Mousavian, a former Iranian ambassador to Germany, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"Israel not only faced defeat in its ten-day operation against Iran but was also on the verge of a loss. If this had not happened, the U.S. would not have intervened," he remarked.
The former ambassador noted that while Iran has suffered significant losses, Washington will also encounter negative repercussions. He emphasized that the events will impact the peace and security of the entire region.
Mousavian added that the actions of the U.S. have once again demonstrated the extent of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's influence over the White House.
On the night of June 22, President Donald Trump announced the start of bombings targeting Iran's nuclear facilities. The U.S. Air Force focused on the facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
