Qatar Closes Its Airspace

The government of Qatar has temporarily closed the country’s airspace to ensure the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors. This was announced in a statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“As part of the State of Qatar’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens, residents, and visitors, the competent authorities announce the temporary suspension of air traffic in the country's airspace. This is part of precautionary measures taken in response to developments in the region,” the statement reads.

It is worth mentioning that earlier reports indicated that Iran had launched at least 6 ballistic missiles targeting a U.S. base located in Qatar, causing explosions to be heard in the capital city, Doha.
