Kremlin Expresses Deep Regret
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated during a briefing that the Kremlin expresses deep regret in connection with the new phase of escalation in the Middle East.
"The Kremlin condemns and expresses deep regret regarding the US strikes against Iran," Peskov said, noting that it is now necessary to see what happened to Iran's nuclear facilities and whether there is a radiation danger.
Peskov assured that Trump did not inform Putin of any intention to strike Iran. Speaking about the possibility of regime change in Iran based on US statements, Peskov said that the fate of the country's leadership should be determined solely by its people, not by third countries.
Commenting on the possibility of Russian assistance to Iran, the Kremlin spokesman said, "Russia's assistance to Iran will depend on what Tehran needs."
