Iran to Suspend Cooperation with IAEA
The Speaker of Iran's Parliament has announced that the legislative body is discussing a bill to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in response to what it deems the unprofessional conduct of the UN nuclear agency.
Speaking at a parliamentary session today, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf reaffirmed the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program. The speaker stated, “Iran has no plans for non-peaceful activities, but the world has clearly witnessed that the IAEA has not fulfilled any of its obligations and has turned into a political tool.”
Qalibaf indicated that the Iranian Parliament is considering a bill to suspend cooperation with the IAEA until tangible guarantees regarding the professional conduct of the UN nuclear agency are provided to Tehran.
