Iran Prepares for Massive Attack; US Anticipates Response
The United States is anticipating that Iran will respond militarily to its attacks in the next one or two days, according to a report by Reuters citing two anonymous American officials.
According to their assessments, the strike could be aimed at American military forces located in the Middle East. The number of these forces in the region is estimated to be around 40,000, Reuters writes.
At the same time, agency sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, indicated that Washington is trying to reach a diplomatic solution to the current situation, under which Tehran would abandon its plans for retaliatory strikes.
It is noted that U.S. President Donald Trump previously announced that U.S. armed forces had successfully struck three Iranian nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
