Iran's Right to Self-Defense Creates Chaos: Lavrov

The application of the right to self-defense, without considering the United Nations Charter, will lead to complete chaos. This was stated by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov while commenting on Iran's strikes against Israel, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“If every country interprets the right to self-defense enshrined in the UN Charter in such a way that I decide myself when to use this right, and I do not want to consider the UN Charter, this will certainly not be a world order but complete chaos,” Lavrov said.

It should be noted that earlier, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated, “The events that occurred this morning are shocking and shameful and will have lasting consequences. Based on the UN Charter and its provisions which allow for a legitimate response within the framework of self-defense, Iran reserves all options to protect its sovereignty, interests, and people.”
