Ofelya
The Iranian Parliament has decided to close the Strait of Hormuz, with the final decision pending approval from Iran's National Security Council, according to reports from the Parliament.
The closing of the Strait will be enforced completely if aggression against Iran's sovereignty continues, stated the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval forces, Ali Reza Tangsiri.
In turn, the advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, Shariatmadari, emphasized that Tehran needs to close the channel as soon as possible for American, British, German, and French shipping.
The Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, with Iran located to the north and Oman and the UAE to the south.
