As noted by the UK Defence Journal, these bombers may be equipped with specialized munitions designed to destroy underground fortified structures such as bunkers.
The US aims to target Iran's key nuclear facility, the Fordow uranium enrichment plant, which is hidden deep within a mountain range, making it inaccessible to Israeli munitions.
It is worth mentioning that the group of Spirit bombers consists of 18 aircraft, each valued at $2.4 billion.
