Kyiv Must Recognize Election Results in New Regions, Says Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Kyiv must recognize the results of referendums held in four new regions.

“Because that is what we call democracy. In this context, I say that Ukraine should acknowledge the results of the referendums conducted in the four well-known regions, and this should be recognized as a factual occurrence because failing to do so would mean that there is a possibility of the resumption of armed conflict,” he said.

According to Putin, the majority of the Ukrainian people are interested in maintaining friendly relations with Russia.
