Tehran Will Respond to Strikes on Nuclear Facilities, Pezeshkian

French President Emmanuel Macron had a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian. In their discussion, he called for “maximum restraint to return to the path of diplomacy.”

Pezeshkian stated that Tehran would respond to American strikes on its nuclear facilities. He emphasized that while the US said one thing at the negotiation table, it acted differently in practice by attacking Iran's nuclear sites. “We have been subjected to military aggression and have steadfastly defended ourselves. We have always declared our readiness to engage and negotiate within the framework of international law, but instead of accepting logic, the other side demanded the capitulation of the Iranian people. Our people will never surrender in the face of force and threats, and it is natural that they will respond accordingly to aggression,” Pezeshkian said.
