Peskov Explains Why Russia Does Not Agree to Ceasefire with Ukraine
Western countries are not prepared to stop providing military assistance to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire, which is why Russia does not agree to an unconditional ceasefire. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the official representative of the Kremlin.
The press secretary of the Russian president noted that a ceasefire implies a complete cessation of military operations, which is impossible in the context of the accumulation of military power by the Ukrainian army, thanks to the supply of American, French, and British weapons.
“This is the problem,” Peskov said, as reported by Sky News.
The Kremlin representative also mentioned that Moscow has no intention of losing its strategic advantage over Kyiv by agreeing to a temporary ceasefire. At the same time, he emphasized that if an agreement on a temporary ceasefire is reached, Russia will not use it to its advantage.
