We Will Enter Parliament with 54 Signatures: Ishkhan Saghatelyan

During a press conference, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the newly elected representative of the ARF Central Committee and a member of the 'Hayastan' faction, commented on the impeachment process, stating that they had posed very clear questions during discussions with the 'Patiyv Unem' party.

He noted, "The first question was whether the two missing signatures needed to initiate the process were present. Our colleagues stated that at this moment, we do not have these two signatures. However, even if we obtain them, we are not planning to bring this to the parliamentary agenda, because we have already announced and now assure that we will enter the parliament with 54 signatures. In this situation, we asked what the plan is for a street movement and if there will be one. We were told there will be. We inquired when it will happen, within what timeframe, whether it would be now or in the fall," he said.

Saghatelyan clarified that they did not specify when the action would take place, stating, "We have asked when it will happen, and emphasized that we are ready to fully engage in all matters related to street protests and the upcoming impeachment process. There hasn’t been much specificity on this. We publicly declare that we are prepared to present the 28 signatures needed for the candidate you proposed. You can reference us in any negotiation process where needed, and we are also willing to participate in those negotiations."

He added, "Announce that the signatures of the 'Hayastan' faction are available, let’s concentrate all our efforts on the four independent MPs. Furthermore, especially if we are pursuing the path of the 54 signatures, we are with you in that."

Saghatelyan pointed out that to avoid misunderstandings, all signatures of their MPs were made public, and all signatories were informed and agreed that they signed for the process of expressing no confidence in Davit Hambardzumyan. "Since it is not clear when this process will begin, the signatures are publicly available. Don’t focus solely on us; let’s work together to gather the missing signatures. What have we faced after that? Some of the initiators of the impeachment seem to have lost perspective. What do the statements made towards the members of the 'Hayastan' faction mean? We now have specific questions—whose answers are we expecting? Are our colleagues speaking to us at this level and in this manner; is this the language of blackmail? And most importantly, are we approaching this process’s success and outcomes with such an atmosphere and situation? These are the questions that are arising," the MP emphasized.
