Pakistan Closes Border with Iran

Pakistan has closed its border with Iran indefinitely due to the deteriorating situation in the Middle East. This was reported by the Dawn portal, citing sources.

"The decision to close the border with Iran was made for security reasons against the backdrop of the instability caused by Israeli attacks," the portal quotes unnamed officials.

It is noted that Iran and Pakistan are separated by a 905 km long border. Border crossings began to close on Sunday.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar had previously announced that 450 Pakistani citizens had been evacuated from Iran. He added that more than 150 Pakistani students studying in Iran would return home via the Taftan border crossing.

It should be recalled that on the night of June 13, Israel launched massive strikes against Iran. The declared aim of the operation was to destroy Tehran's nuclear program activities. In response, the Iranian side began to strike Israeli territory.
