Overall, according to the institute's data, as of January 2025, there are 9,614 nuclear warheads in the world. Approximately 90% of the world's nuclear weapons are attributed to the arsenals of the United States and Russia.
Specifically, the U.S. has 1,770 deployed warheads and an additional 1,930 in storage. According to SIPRI's estimates, Russia possesses 1,718 deployed warheads and 2,591 in storage. Meanwhile, China's nuclear arsenal consists of 600 warheads.
France possesses 290 nuclear warheads, the UK has 225, India has 180, Pakistan has 170, and North Korea has 50.
