Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Provides Details on the Explosion in Chambarak

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Armen Mkrtchyan, reported during today’s government meeting that the preliminary hypothesis suggests that the explosion in Chambarak occurred due to gas accumulated from a leak.

“Currently, it is possible to live in certain apartments of the building, but considering some risks, residents are still not residing there. Shelters and necessary supplies are provided for all residents. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the causes will be clarified eventually,” said Mkrtchyan.

It is noteworthy that 282 rescue service members have been involved in the search and rescue operations. There are five casualties, and 12 individuals have been hospitalized.
