Ministry of Internal Affairs on Search and Rescue Operations in Chambarak
In connection with the gas explosion that occurred in building number 4 on Tigran Mets Street in Chambarak, the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Territorial Administration and Infrastructure are jointly carrying out necessary actions based on the situation. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At the inter-agency level, with the involvement of regional and community authorities, efforts are being made in various areas, including assessing the needs of the building's residents, providing necessary medications and food, ensuring accommodation if needed, neutralizing the aftermath of the incident, and other primary directions.
Search and rescue operations on site, involving around 230 rescuers and police officers, are being led by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Director of the Emergency Service, Kamo Tsutsulyan. The search and rescue measures are ongoing intensively.
It was previously reported that a fire broke out in one of the apartments in a building on Garegin Nzhdeh Street in Chambarak following the explosion. According to preliminary data, apartments on the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd floors have collapsed. Some adjacent entrance apartments have also partially collapsed.
It is worth noting that the number of casualties from the explosion has reached three, and 11 individuals have been hospitalized.
