How Citizens Welcomed Garegin II

At the Zvartnots airport, the gathered crowd welcomed the Supreme Patriarch of All Armenians Garegin II with applause and chants of "Venerable." The airport echoed with the Lord's Prayer and a hymn titled "Grant Long Life to the Fatherland."

Statements made by the Prime Minister have caused widespread resentment among our nation’s children. We believe that with God’s mercy and help, together with you, we can wisely and without unnecessary emotions and protests overcome this difficulty. Stay strong in your faith and in your love for the Church. We appreciate this attitude from you, but we also want to express that it further obligates us, the clergy, to fulfill our mission with the same dedication and loyalty. Our exhortation should be to steadfastly maintain unity in our national life during these trying times and not allow any actions or deeds that threaten our national unity to take root.

We believe that through our collective efforts and by pooling our capabilities, we will withstand all trials and overcome all difficulties. May God assist our people, today and forever,” said Garegin II.
