Mirzoyan on the Process of Issuing Schengen Visas

The process of issuing Schengen visas is indeed troubling. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan in the National Assembly.

“We are presenting the issues related to this matter to our partners in EU member states, with concerns ranging from technical explanations to financial matters. There are exceptional cases where we accept that we do not believe respectful treatment is being afforded to our citizens. However, in most cases, we have no objection; these are their procedures,” noted Mirzoyan.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs acknowledges the legitimacy of the problem and considers visa liberalization as the best solution, adding that the slow progress is partially the responsibility of the Armenian side as well.
