Those Making Such Statements Are Banging Their Heads Against the Wall: Araik Harutyunyan

Mariam Z.

After the regular meeting of the ruling party's board, Araik Harutyunyan, head of the Prime Minister's office, mentioned in a conversation with journalists that the issue of removing the Catholicos was also discussed among other domestic political issues.

When asked by a journalist what had been decided, and whether Pashinyan had already received letters in his email, Harutyunyan responded, "I assume there will be a statement in the coming days regarding the course of this process."

In response to a journalist's observation that this process is viewed by the opposition as an attempt to instigate a civil war, he said, "Those making such statements are banging their heads against the wall. When they talk about inciting a civil war, they have continually wanted to provoke a civil war since the war of 2020, but their attempts have failed. They have received significant political blows and retreated to their places. There cannot be a civil war in Armenia."
