The Suspect in Gyumri Car Theft Was Under the Influence

The Shirak provincial operational management center has received a report of a car theft on Yerevan Highway in Gyumri.

Officers from the Kumayri division of the community police, in collaboration with provincial patrols, initiated operational-investigative measures. As a result, on June 7, the stolen vehicle was found on the Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra road, with a 33-year-old resident of Yerevan behind the wheel.

The individual was arrested and taken to the police station. A personal search revealed three pills of 'diazepam' and a package containing approximately 2 grams of a transparent substance. It was established that he was under the influence of alcohol.

The 33-year-old has been presented to the investigative body along with the relevant documents. Circumstances are under investigation.
