Police Shoot Photographer in Los Angeles
During protests in Los Angeles, a police officer shot a photographer from the New York Post in the head with a rubber bullet. As a result, the man ended up in the hospital. This is already the second such incident, according to the New York Post.
It was reported that Toby Canham was filming the chaos between police and protesters when a California Highway Patrol officer suddenly turned their weapon on him and fired from about 90 meters away.
It is worth noting that U.S. authorities have confirmed the decision to deploy around 700 Marines in Los Angeles, in addition to the already dispatched National Guard forces. The deployment of Marines comes amidst clashes involving immigration service personnel. Additionally, another 2,000 National Guard troops are being sent to the city. California authorities have deemed the National Guard deployment unlawful and have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration.
