Samvel Shahramanyan Interrogated Again: Details
The last president of Artsakh, Samvel Shahramanyan, has been interrogated again for four hours today as part of the criminal proceedings initiated over negligence and the handover of weapons and ammunition to the enemy. This was reported to journalists by the president's lawyer, Roman Yeritsyan, after the interrogation.
Shahramanyan is being questioned as a witness, and the lawyer noted, “I do not rule anything out in the Republic of Armenia’s legal system. However, at this point, the investigator has no grounds to bring charges against Samvel Shahramanyan. Whether they will or will not is a question I cannot answer.”
According to him, there will be an intensive interrogation of the president, but the investigative body has been warned not to disclose the day of the next interrogation, although it is not a pre-investigative secret. The lawyer explained that the intensified interrogations are planned solely based on the volume of the proceedings. “At this point, I am deprived of attributing political significance to this case because I value the importance of these proceedings. The competent bodies of the Republic of Armenia should respond to this issue. The problem is that Shahramanyan started being questioned in 2025, but he should have been interrogated earlier,” Yeritsyan stated.
