Los Angeles Could Have Been Wiped Off the Map: Trump
US President Donald Trump has stated that the city could have been completely destroyed if the National Guard had not been deployed to suppress the riots. He made this remark on his Truth Social platform.
“We made a great decision by deploying the National Guard in California to quell the violent, incited riots,” he said. According to him, if this had not been done, “Los Angeles could have been wiped off the map.”
He also criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, stating that they should “thank President Trump” rather than insist that federal assistance is unnecessary.
It is noteworthy that on June 8, a service conducted by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in downtown Los Angeles to identify illegal immigrants turned into clashes with protesters. White House officials have characterized the protests in the city as “a rebellion against the law.”
