Turkey Reduces Oil Product Imports from Russia

Russian oil product supplies to Turkey dropped by a quarter in April this year, reaching the lowest level in over 2.5 years. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing data from the Turkish statistical service.

According to the media outlet, imports of oil products from Russia to Turkey in April fell compared to the same period last year by a quarter and by 11% compared to March, reaching a minimum of $735.7 million since September 2022.

In the first four months of this year, Turkey purchased Russian oil products worth $3.3 billion, which is 14.5% less compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, the total volume of imports for the entire previous year amounted to $11.5 billion.

It is worth noting that Russia has become Turkey's main supplier of oil products. The leading five suppliers also included Egypt ($47.1 million), India ($33.8 million), France ($21.9 million), and Italy ($13 million).
