Armenia and Russia Discuss Flower Export Issues

Flowers imported from third countries into Armenia are not being re-exported to Russia. In response to concerns raised by the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, known as "Rosselkhoznadzor," a representative of Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body, Anush Harutyunyan, spoke to an "Armenpress" correspondent.

"We received a corresponding letter from the Russian side on June 3. They believe that flowers are being imported into Armenia from third countries, which are then exported to Russia with Armenian certificates. However, this is not true because the volume of flowers imported into Armenia is not large enough for us to also re-export them. These flowers are consumed within Armenia. At the same time, Armenia's capabilities allow for the export of the quantity stated in the documents to Russia," Harutyunyan said.

Harutyunyan assured that once the studies are complete, the issue will definitely be discussed with the Russian side to resolve it as quickly as possible. "Currently, studies are being conducted, and negotiations are ongoing. We are discussing the issue with the Russian side and trying to resolve it. We will provide additional information upon the completion of the process," she added.
