Increasing the Resilience of Syunik is a Priority for Armenia: Khudatyan
The decentralized cooperation between Armenia and France, which is one of the most dynamic areas of our interstate relations, is based on solid institutional foundations. This was stated by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Davit Khudatyan, during the 5th Conference on Decentralized Cooperation between Armenia and France held in Goris.
“The 5th Armenian-French decentralized cooperation conference organized in Goris today is the best evidence of this. It is noteworthy that even before the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries, the Paris region's Bagneux has been a sister city to the city of Vanadzor in Armenia, and now as a result of our cooperation, there are over fifty such cities, urban communities, and municipalities,” said Khudatyan.
The significant presence of French local authorities at this conference reflects the friendship between our peoples, the depth of which has been emphasized even more in recent years.
“Thanks to regular and high-level dialogue, a broad agenda has been formed between Armenia and France in various fields such as political, economic, defense, educational-cultural, healthcare, francophonie, and others,” he noted.
According to him, increasing the resilience of Syunik is a priority for the Armenian government aimed at enhancing security, economic, educational, healthcare, and other capacities. “In this matter, France has a key role among our international partners, for which I thank you all,” Khudatyan added.
He emphasized that holding the 5th conference on decentralized cooperation between Armenia and France in the Syunik region has strategic importance.
“I assure you that we have spared no effort to organize this at the proper level in order to support the implementation of joint programs within the framework of the Armenia-France decentralized cooperation. I urge territorial and local government bodies to actively engage in the substantive discussions of these days, which will allow us to outline new programs and expand the existing framework of partnership to qualitatively elevate Armenia-France decentralized cooperation to a new level,” he said.
“Once again, you are welcome to Armenia, welcome to Syunik, and welcome to Goris. I wish us all productive working days. Thank you,” he concluded.
