Number of People Infected with Brucellosis in Gegharkunik Region Increases
In the village of Chkalovka in the Gegharkunik region, the number of residents infected with brucellosis has reached 10. This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by Robert Kavkasyan, a representative of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
It was noted that on May 22, it became known that there were 4 recorded cases of infection in Chkalovka. After that, the center conducted anti-epidemic measures in the village and examined 153 residents of the community. As a result of laboratory blood tests, another 6 cases were identified.
Currently, awareness measures are being implemented to prevent the spread of the disease. Brucellosis is an infection transmitted from sick animals to humans, characterized by the damage to lymphoid tissue, the musculoskeletal system, and the nervous system.
