Iran Aims for Diplomatic Resolution, Says Araqchi

Iran and the United States are not very close to a resolution on the nuclear issue, according to Iran's Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Abbas Araqchi.

He emphasized that Iran seeks a diplomatic resolution that meets the interests of all parties involved. However, such a solution requires the formulation of an agreement that includes the lifting of sanctions against Iran and permission for uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes.

Earlier, CNN and a number of other Western media outlets reported that Washington and Tehran might reach an agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue in the near future. Notably, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that his administration is very close to resolving the Iranian nuclear issue.
