Armenian President Samvel Shahramanyan May Face Arrest

Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan has been summoned for questioning by the Armenian Investigative Committee's Military Investigative Main Department 5 to 6 times over the past month. This information was reported by ArmLur.am.

According to the website, the case pertains to the transfer of the Republic of Artsakh, military negligence during the war, and the surrender of weapons and ammunition to the enemy.

“Information has long circulated in media platforms that Samvel Shahramanyan may be arrested soon, indicating that developments are underway around Shahramanyan in light of the upcoming 2026 elections,” the news outlet reports.

The media has learned from sources close to law enforcement that other individuals have also been questioned within the framework of the aforementioned criminal proceedings, including former Minister of Defense of Artsakh Samvel Babayan. This suggests that the proceedings may have been initiated based on Babayan's statements, which led to the summons of the Artsakh president to the Investigative Committee.
