Former Kindergarten Director Embezzles Over 12 Million AMD
The investigation by the Yerevan investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee regarding the embezzlement, misappropriation, and waste of particularly large amounts of money by the former director of one of Yerevan's kindergartens has been completed. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.
During the course of the investigative proceedings, it was established that the former director of the kindergarten accepted a group of individuals for employment, although they did not actually perform their work duties. Furthermore, after salaries and other payments were transferred to their bank accounts, they were withdrawn in cash by the former accountant of the kindergarten and handed over to the director.
As a result, the director embezzled a particularly large amount of 12,930,512 AMD and misappropriated another particularly large amount of 3,699,373 AMD.
Additionally, the director signed and approved documents with obviously falsified information regarding the working hours and attendance of those employed by him, with the intent to misappropriate salaries and other payments. The investigation also revealed that the accountant transferred 15,993,511 AMD from the kindergarten's bank account to various accounts opened in his name at different banks in Armenia and embezzled those funds.
Public criminal prosecutions have been initiated against L.M. under Article 256, Paragraph 3, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code (theft of entrusted property) and Article 445, Clause 1 (official forgery), against N.H. under Article 256, Paragraph 3, Clause 3 (theft of entrusted property) (2 counts), and Article 46-256, Paragraph 3, Clause 3 (aiding in the theft of entrusted property), against M.Z. under Article 46-256, Paragraph 3, Clause 3 (aiding in the theft of entrusted property), and against N.Z., R.G., V.G., and S.H. under Article 46-256, Paragraph 2, Clauses 2 and 3 (aiding in the theft of entrusted property).
The criminal case has been sent to the supervisory prosecutor with a request for approval and for it to be referred to court for trial.
