Former Head of the State Control Service David Sanasaryan Acquitted

The Criminal Court of Yerevan, presided over by Judge David Balayan, has just announced its verdict in the case of David Sanasaryan, the former head of the State Control Service, declaring and recognizing Sanasaryan’s innocence.

Sanasaryan was accused of abusing his official powers while serving as the head of the State Control Service. According to the charges, David Sanasaryan, while leading the State Control Service, had the authority to manage the service directly, appoint and dismiss staff, impose disciplinary sanctions, and issue instructions for conducting inspections in supervised facilities. Additionally, he was authorized to request information and documents related to the service’s functions from controlled entities. It was alleged that he used his official position in violation of the service's interests for group benefit and failed to fulfill his official duties.

Sanasaryan had repeatedly stated that he did not accept the accusations against him. The complaint against Sanasaryan was lodged at the National Security Service by Hrant Pivazyan, the director of “Fresenius” LLC, the Armenian partner of the German company “Fresenius Medical Care,” which had lost in purchase tenders.
