Erdogan Calls for Serious Consideration of Lavrov's Statements
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for serious consideration of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's statements regarding Ukraine. According to the Turkish leader, these remarks inspire hope for peace, as reported by RIA Novosti.
Specifically, Erdogan recalled Lavrov's words, which stated that Russia wishes to hold a second round of negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul.
“This statement by Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov should not be underestimated. This announcement has further strengthened our hopes for peace,” said the Turkish leader during a conversation with reporters on the plane after returning from Azerbaijan.
Erdogan also mentioned that Ankara is in constant communication with Moscow and Kyiv, urging them not to miss opportunities to establish peace. The Turkish president emphasized that the path to resolving the conflict lies through “greater diplomacy and dialogue” and called for the immediate “extinguishing of this fire.”
