Defense Ministry and NSS Officers to Acquire Housing Through State-Budget Funded Mortgage Loans

Officers who have graduated from military educational institutions and have been appointed to officer positions in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia or the border troops of the National Security Service will now be able to purchase housing through mortgage loans funded by the state budget. This decision was made during today's cabinet meeting.

The eligible officers will be able to acquire an apartment or a house in Yerevan or the provinces for an amount of approximately 35 million AMD. In the event of the officer's discharge from military service, they will be obligated to return the funds that were disbursed from the state budget under the mortgage loan agreement.

It is also important to note that the same project includes plans to extend the duration of the primary leave for servicemen and junior officer ranks who are serving mandatory military service.
