Zelensky States Under What Conditions Putin Would Win Against NATO
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has stated that Kyiv's possible absence from the upcoming NATO summit would signify President Vladimir Putin's victory over the North Atlantic Alliance.
He mentioned that Ukraine has received "signals from partners regarding participation in the summit" but would prefer to have an open discussion with allies on this matter.
"It is important what participation and what outcomes Ukraine will have in attending this summit. In my opinion, if Ukraine is not present at the NATO summit, it would be Putin's victory, but not over Ukraine, rather, over NATO. Therefore, the decision lies with our partners," Zelensky said.
It was previously reported that the upcoming NATO summit will focus on increasing military spending and production, rather than on Ukraine's potential membership in the military alliance. It is noted that the summit will be shorter than previous ones, and following the outcomes, the parties will adopt a brief statement.
