Over $500 Million Returned to Armenia in 7 Years, Says Alen Simonyan
During the period from 2018 to 2024, a total of 210 billion 79 million drams (approximately $536 million) in assets and financial resources have been returned to the Republic of Armenia. Of this amount, 46% or 96 billion 934 million drams (about $247 million) were recovered in 2023 and 2024. This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, referring to the Prosecutor General's Office.
“In particular, in 2018, 39 billion 571 million 145 thousand drams were returned to the Republic of Armenia. In 2019, 10 billion 327 million drams were returned. In 2020, 12 billion 256 million 617 thousand drams were returned. In 2021, 15 billion 467 million 959 thousand drams worth of damages were recovered. In 2022, 35 billion 522 million drams were returned. In 2023, approximately 44 billion 298 million drams (roughly $113 million) in assets and financial resources were returned to the Republic of Armenia. In 2024, around 52 billion 636 million drams (about $134 million) were returned.
