ZPMC Demands Nearly 5 Billion Dram Compensation from 8 Former Striking Employees
The Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) LLC has filed a lawsuit in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Province against its former employees Tigran Atayan, Vahe Mkrtchyan, Vahe Babajanyan, Shavarsh Margaryan, Gor Babajanyan, Karen Arshakyan, Karen Andreasyan, and Arthur Babajanyan, who participated in a strike in January-February 2025.
The company is demanding that they jointly pay 4,758,480,000 Armenian drams as compensation for damages caused to ZCMC LLC. Additionally, the company seeks to recover 25,000,000 Armenian drams for previously paid state duties, as well as reasonable attorney fees amounting to 2,500,000 Armenian drams.
The court has accepted the claim for processing (Court Case No: SD/0215/02/25). Attorney Hrayr Khachatryan, representing the rights and interests of a group of employees who participated in the ZCMC strike, announced on his Facebook page that based on the enforcement order issued by the court in case SD/0215/02/25, a judicial enforcement proceeding No. 13488958 has been initiated for the confiscation of illegally acquired property from the Ministry of Justice's enforcement service, which involves a seizure of 4,758,480,000 Armenian drams against the defendants Shavarsh Margaryan, Vahe Mkrtchyan, Tigran Atayan, Karen Arshakyan, Karen Andreasyan, Gor Babajanyan, Vahe Babajanyan, and Arthur Babajanyan’s properties, excluding cash and bank accounts.
