Israeli Airstrike Hits Doctor's Home in Gaza, Killing Nine of His Children
Nine out of ten children of a doctor in Gaza have been killed following an Israeli airstrike on his home, as reported by The Guardian. Dr. Ala'a al-Najjar, a pediatrician at Al-Tahrir Hospital in the Nasser Medical Complex, was treating victims of ongoing Israeli attacks in the Palestinian territories when the strike occurred in Khan Younis.
The eldest of his children was just 12 years old. The Nasser Hospital confirmed that one of al-Najjar's children and his wife were injured but survived the attack.
British surgeon Graham Groom, who works at the hospital, recounted how he operated on the surviving 11-year-old boy. According to Groom, he was informed that the child’s father, who is also a doctor, has “no political or military connections, and he does not appear to be very prominent on social media.”
