The Iranian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the American delegation was headed by Special Envoy Stephen Wittkoff.
The discussions took place at the residence of the Omani ambassador. Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi stated that the US and Iran have achieved "certain, but not final progress" during the fifth round of negotiations on the nuclear issue.
Stephen Wittkoff, the head of the American delegation and Special Envoy of the US President, had earlier left the negotiation platform "due to flight schedule conflicts." After the conclusion of the talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi remarked that "there is a possibility for progress."
