US Congressman Calls on Rubio to Take Action for Release of Armenian Prisoners

During a meeting of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Chris Smith urged US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to take immediate steps to secure the release of Armenian prisoners unlawfully held in Baku. It is evident that following the genocide perpetrated against Armenians by Aliyev, numerous political prisoners and military captives are being held in the country. I would simply urge you to do everything possible to secure their release.

In response, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the release of Armenian prisoners is a key component of the US's ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
