Son Kills Father and Puts Money in His Mouth

On the morning of May 22, the National Police's operational management center received a call reporting that a young man was attempting to commit suicide by jumping off the Victory Bridge in Yerevan. Operational groups were dispatched to the scene.

The patrol officers and rescuers prevented the suicide attempt, and the young man was taken to the Central Division of the Community Police.

It has been revealed that the preliminary reason behind the suicide attempt was the young man's killing of his father just hours earlier.

Criminal and community police, along with rescuers, discovered the body of the young man's 63-year-old father, Grigori Grigoryan, at an apartment on Khorenatsi Street in Echmiadzin. Preliminary data indicates he suffered stab wounds. There were banknotes found on the corpse.

The circumstances are being clarified through the preliminary investigation.
