Harvard University Prohibited from Accepting Foreign Students

The U.S. administration of President Donald Trump has suspended Harvard University's permission to accept students from foreign countries. This was reported by The New York Times.

“I am informing you that Harvard University’s license for international student and academic exchange programs has been deemed invalid,” said U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem in a letter sent to the university.

According to sources cited by the newspaper, the decision is part of an ongoing investigation into Harvard over recent months. Approximately 6,800 foreign students studied at Harvard this year, accounting for about 27% of the university's total applicants.

It is worth noting that Trump and his administration representatives have repeatedly made statements regarding Harvard and other prestigious American universities. According to authorities, the university has failed to ensure the complete safety of Jewish-origin students from pro-Palestinian activists opposing Israel's military operations in Gaza.

Previously, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services canceled $60 million in federal grants intended for Harvard, as the department believed that the university was unable to address issues of anti-Semitism, ethnic and racial discrimination.
