Mother Who Tortured Children on Trial

The prosecutor has submitted the criminal case regarding the mother who tortured her children to the Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan, with the established indictment scheduled for May 2, 2025.

It is recalled that on January 12, 2023, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Committee, during which the prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecution against N.A. on March 18, 2025, under points 3, 6, and 8 of part 2 of article 196 of the Criminal Code (inflicting physical pain or severe mental suffering on minors who are in a state of material or other dependence on the perpetrator) based on two episodes.

During the criminal proceedings, it was established that the mother of two minors had regularly subjected them to physical and psychological abuse from November 2021 until January 7, 2023. Specifically, she repeatedly subjected the children to physical violence and left them without parental supervision and care, without food, alone for one or several days in a construction site in Yerevan.

On May 2, 2025, the criminal proceedings with the established indictment were submitted to the competent court.
