The Ministry of Emergency Situations Reveals Cause of Accident and Fire, Footage Released
On May 19, at 16:02, the National Center for Crisis Management received a report that vehicles had collided on Silva Kaputikyan Street in Yerevan. Firefighters and rescuers were dispatched to the scene, consisting of four fire brigades.
It was discovered that a KamAZ brand concrete mixer had overturned, caught fire, and collided with a gas line, causing damage. The resulting fire ignited nearby parked vehicles. The fire was contained at 16:50 and extinguished by 17:08. A total of four vehicles were burned (2 Mercedes-Benz, 1 BYD electric vehicle, and 1 partially burnt KamAZ concrete mixer), along with a wooden electric pole. The escaped gas from the damaged gas line also contributed to the incident, causing thermal damage to the front segment of the Mercedes-Benz vehicle, nearby building ventilation systems, and the gas meter from the adjacent building.
Shift work is being carried out at the scene. Footage has also been released.
