Murders Solved Through Artificial Intelligence in Russia

Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms have assisted in uncovering high-profile crimes, including the murders of journalist Darya Dugina and military correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky. This was announced by Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, in St. Petersburg.

According to him, AI algorithms have also helped identify those responsible for the assassination attempt on writer Zakhar Prilepin and the preparation of a similar crime against television presenter Vladimir Solovyov.

Darya Dugina, 29, died on the evening of August 20, 2022, when her car was blown up on Mozhaisk Highway near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemy in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region.

Vladlen Tatarsky, 40, was killed on April 2, 2023. During a creative meeting at one of St. Petersburg's cafes, the terrorist Daria Trepova handed Tatarsky an IED disguised as a figurine, which detonated shortly after. A total of 52 participants at the event were injured.
