Russia Plans to Launch Ballistic Missile, Says Ukrainian Defense Ministry

Russia is set to conduct a "training combat" launch of the RS-24 intercontinental ballistic missile. This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The missile launch aims to intimidate Ukraine and exert pressure on EU and NATO member countries, which is seen as an element of nuclear blackmail tactics.

“The launch of a missile equipped with training munitions has been ordered to be carried out by the personnel of the 433rd regiment of the 42nd division of the 31st army of the aggressor state's Strategic Missile Forces,” the statement read.

The launch site is located near the settlement of Svobodny in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia. It is planned to use training munitions. The three-stage solid-fueled missile has a flight range of over 10,000 kilometers.
