Marshals Bagramyan's Monument Demolished in Stepanakert

As Azerbaijani troops march through Moscow's Red Square, and the Armenian Prime Minister and Russian President observe from the podium, the monument to Marshal Bagramyan has been demolished in Stepanakert. The statue was destroyed down to the roots, leaving no trace behind. Previously, the statue had been desecrated, with its nose broken and the Armenian inscriptions eradicated.

This information was shared by Sergey Shahverdyan, the head of the Artsakh Agency for Culture and Tourism Development, on his Facebook page.

“It was the last sculptural monument remaining in Stepanakert until May 9, 2025, the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. Meanwhile, the Russian ambassador in Armenia is outraged, justly raising his voice in commemoration of Bagramyan, while Maria Zakharova attempts to justify Aliyev's absence from the Victory Parade. The Azerbaijani occupation regime is destroying the monument of one of the prominent military figures of the Soviet era. We await the outraged open letter from the Russian ambassador in Azerbaijan,” wrote Shahverdyan.
