Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Issues Statement After Negotiations
Ukraine has sent information to the United States regarding the outcomes of the negotiations held in Istanbul, announced the spokesperson for the country’s Foreign Ministry, Georgiy Tikhiy. He made this statement during a press briefing that followed the meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations, which was the first of its kind in three years, reports RIA Novosti.
The negotiations were conducted by Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and concluded at 15:20 Moscow time, lasting for approximately two hours.
"The Ukrainian side has already informed its American counterparts about the results," Tikhiy emphasized.
After the negotiations concluded, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the Russian and Ukrainian delegations had reached a principled agreement on a new phase of negotiations. Rustem Umerov, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense leading the delegation in Istanbul, declined to comment on future steps of the dialogue.
