Ukrainian Delegation Discusses Possible Meeting Between Zelensky and Putin

We expect a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, to take place as soon as possible. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and a member of the delegation in Istanbul, Serhiy Kyslytsia, as reported by the publication 'Strana'.

“We should not weaken at this stage. There are numerous questions that only the leaders can resolve, considering the complexity of the issues and the nature of Russia, where Putin resolves nearly all matters. We expect the meeting to be held as soon as possible,” he said.

Earlier, the Minister of Defense and head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, announced that preparatory work is underway for the meeting of the two heads of state.

The assistant to the President of Russia and head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, stated that Moscow acknowledges Kyiv's wish to hold a meeting of the heads of state.
