Investigations Launched into Incident Involving Students at Mkhchyan School

An investigation has been initiated regarding an incident at the Kristapor Alaverdyan School in the village of Mkhchyan, Ararat province. A criminal case has been opened against four individuals, and an arrest warrant has been issued for one.

The spokesperson for the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Kima Avdalyan, informed Auroranews about the developments, stating, "A criminal case has been initiated based on Article 258, parts 2, 5, and 8 of the Criminal Code (extortion committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy against a helpless victim, involving a minor). Four individuals are facing public criminal prosecution under the same article. Measures of restraint have been applied to two of the suspects, including educational supervision and administrative oversight, while the remaining individuals face house arrest and a prohibition on leaving. An arrest warrant is in effect for one suspect."

Earlier reports in the media indicated that a horrifying incident occurred at the school days ago. According to information, several boys from the higher grades allegedly tied up two 4th-grade students in the school restroom and forced them to take drugs. As a result, the children developed an addiction and began stealing money from their homes to buy drugs from the same students.
